Finishing the well

In the last post I talked about hitting water and putting in the well shaft.  In this post I will tell how everything came together to actually have water pumping out of the well.

Here is a chronicle of the trials and tribulations of what it took to get a functioning well on our property.

Wind Storm 11-17-15

Some of my friends have expressed concerns over the windstorm we recently had so I thought I'd write about it for everyone.

Entertaining angels unawares

One time we had a 1994 Ford 12 passenger van.  We had all six kids in the car and were traveling on a long stretch of deserted highway with no houses close in the pitch of night.  The headlights dimmed and shortly thereafter the van died.

What is your pot of oil?

We went through some tough times in my cleaning business, and winter was always the worst of times.  In November our propane ran out completely and I put the minimum 100 gallons in the tank.  In February my wife asked if I had looked at the propane recently, so I went and checked.  We were at 5% on a 250 gallon tank, so that meant we had approximately 12.5 gallons left and it was winter time.  We had no money and our whole house ran on propane.  Central heat was propane, propane cook stove, propane hot water heater, and propane dryer.  With six kids at home, we went through a fair amount of propane even though where we lived in Louisiana has fairly mild winters.

Blind lawyer

We had a court case that the opposing party was harassing us by taking us to court over and over as a threat.  When the court date would come, they would cancel.  When we did not comply with their wishes, they would set another court date.  They hired an attorney that was known as the bulldog you hired to punish others, and he was VERY good (and expensive).  During part of this time we were living in the projects with no vehicle and during the whole ordeal we had no money.

Learning to be thankful

As a young man, I worked on cars constantly to keep them running for my newspaper route.  As a result, I became very proficient at car repairs.  I was very confident that I would always have a running vehicle due to my skill at repairing cars and my knack for picking up cars cheap and fixing them up.  In my early years I often only paid $50 for a car, even into the early 90's.

Back healing (continued), hearing the voice of the Lord, overcoming fear

As I stated in the last post, though God had completely healed me, I had an extreme fear of reinjuring myself, and worst of all, the devil had tricked me into believing that God had only taken away the pain but my back was still messed up.  I lived with this fear for two years after the Lord healed me on February 14, 1993.

Back injury and healing

My dad started a piano tuning and repair business when I was 7 years old.  As part of that business, there were a lot of pianos that had to be moved.  Being a young boy that wanted to be just like dad, I wanted to be able to pick up a piano and move it.

Newspaper Routes and Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

When I was 18 I gave up my newspaper routes as my family was moving to Louisiana.  My routes were a total of 120 miles long and I delivered 450 newspapers.

Fried in oil

Hello there!  Thank you for stopping by!  I want to share with you some testimonies of miracles that God has done in my life, beginning with my teen years.
